オープンリサーチ出版ゲートウェイ Japan Institutional Gatewayと提携しました

 宇都宮大学はオープンリサーチ出版ゲートウェイ Japan Institutional Gatewayの提携機関（Affiliates）となりました。JIGは筑波大学がサポートする世界初の2カ国語に対応したオープンリサーチ出版ゲートウェイです。本学の研究者はJIGで英語もしくは日本語のオープンアクセス論文を投稿・出版することができるようになります。JIGとの提携により、本学は研究成果のオープンアクセス化を推進します。

F1000 Japan Institutional Gateway に３つの提携機関が加わり日本でのオープンリサーチの普及に貢献

 Japan Institutional Gateway は筑波大学がサポートする世界初の2か国語に対応したオープンリサーチ出版ゲートウェイです。研究者は英語もしくは日本語で出版可能です。この度、筑波大学に続き、東海大学、筑波技術大学、宇都宮大学が F1000 Japan Institutional Gateway (JIG) に提携機関として加盟しました。この協定により、提携機関に所属する研究者はJapan Institutional Gateway に論文投稿・出版が可能となります。新しい3つの提携機関の参加は、世界初の2か国語オープンリサーチ出版ゲートウェイの可能性を大きく拡大するもので、今後も成長を続けていくことが見込まれます。
 JIG は、2022年8月に筑波大学のサポートにより開始され、提携機関に所属する研究者は迅速かつ透明性の高い研究成果の公開が可能となりました。日本におけるオープンリサーチの導入を促進するために、日本の大学及び研究機関からJIG提携プログラムへの参加を希望する機関を募り、随時申し込みを受け付けています。JIGでは全ての分野での論文発表が可能です。また人文・社会科学分野の研究者は、日本語または英語での論文発表を選択することができ、Scopusにも収載される国際的な出版ゲートウェイで各研究に最も適した言語で研究成果を発表することができます。
 ゲートウェイは、出版後ピアレビューにより可能となる迅速な出版モデルと出版前の厳密なチェック・公開査読・アーカイブ・索引付けによる研究の品質と透明性を確保する出版モデルの両方の利点を兼ね備えています。
 JIGで公開されるすべての研究成果にはオープンライセンスが付与され、自由なアクセスを保証しつつ研究の利用・再利用の可能性を最大限に引き出します。この出版モデルは、ビル＆メリンダ・ゲイツ財団、ウェルカム・トラスト、欧州委員会のHorizon 2020 およびHorizon Europe プログラムなど、世界の主要な資金提供団体にF1000が提供している、カスタマイズされた出版プラットフォームにも採用されています。

F1000のマネージング・ディレクターであるRebecca Lawrence は、次のように述べています。
 F1000チームはJapan Institutional Gateway のこの急速かつ意義ある成長を大変嬉しく思っています。日本におけるオープンリサーチの重要性が増していることを示すだけでなく、2か国語出版ゲートウェイが成功を収めていることを示すものです。東海大学、筑波技術大学、宇都宮大学はいずれもパイオニアであり、日本国内だけでなく世界的にオープンリサーチを先導しているといえるでしょう。

東海大学 副学長（理系担当）である稲津敏行氏は、次のように述べています。
 「研究成果のオープンアクセス化は世界的な潮流であり、本学においても積極的な対応を進めております。これに加え、学術論文の被引用数に代表される研究力指標の向上を目指し、本学におけるJIGオープンアクセス出版の導入に踏み切りました。」

筑波技術大学 学長 石原保志氏は、次のように述べています。
 「筑波技術大学は、我が国で唯一の聴覚・視覚障害者のための高等教育機関として、開学以来培ってきた障害者教育、支援のノウハウを基盤に、在学する学生のみならず、全国の障害学生を支援するなど、我が国の聴覚・視覚障害者支援に関する先導的役割を果たしてきました。本学が培ってきた障害者支援に関する知見を世界に発信することで障害者を含んだ社会のダイバーシティ環境の醸成とインクルーシブ社会の実現に貢献していきます。」

宇都宮大学研究担当理事 横田和隆氏は、次のように述べています。

筑波技術大学について

宇都宮大学について

Significant growth of open research across Japan as more institutions join F1000's Japan Institutional Gateway

Japan Institutional Gateway is the world's first dual language (English/Japanese) open research publishing venue supported by the University of Tsukuba
Tokai University, Tsukuba University of Technology and Utsunomiya University have signed up as affiliates of F1000's Japan Institutional Gateway (JIG), following the lead of the University of Tsukuba. These agreements enable researchers from these affiliated institutions to publish on the Japan Institutional Gateway. These new affiliates mark a significant expansion of the world's first dual language open research publishing venue that looks set to continue to grow throughout the year, with more affiliates expected to join in 2023.

JIG was launched with the support of the University of Tsukuba in August 2022, allowing researchers from across the university to publish rapidly and with full transparency. It is open to submissions from Japanese research institutions who wish to participate in JIG's affiliation program helping to accelerate the adoption of open research in Japan. Research in all subject areas can be published on the Gateway, and researchers in humanities and social sciences can choose to publish their articles in Japanese or English, showcasing their work in a Scopus-indexed, international publishing venue in the language that best befits their work.

The Gateway combines the benefits of rapid publication (enabled by post-publication peer review) with mechanisms to assure quality and transparency; rigorous pre-publication checks, open peer review, archiving and indexing.
All outputs published on JIG have open licenses, ensuring free access, and maximizing the opportunity for use and re-use. This publishing model is also used on the customized publishing platforms that F1000 provides for major global funders such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the European Commission's Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs.

Rebecca Lawrence, F1000's Managing Director, commented:

In addition to this, we have decided to introduce JIG Open Access publishing at Tokai University with the aim of improving the method to evaluate research output and research indicators currently represented by counting the number of citations of academic papers. "

"Tsukuba University of Technology is Japan's only higher education institution dedicated to supporting hearing and visually impaired persons in the country. Our expertise in education and support for those with hearing and visual impairments gained since the university was founded, has enabled us to not only play a leading role in supporting students currently enrolled in the university, but also support students nationwide. By disseminating to the world, the knowledge and expertise that we have gained by supporting people with disabilities, we will contribute to fostering a socially diverse environment and to the realization of an inclusive society."
