Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Graduate School of Regional Development and Creativity at Utsunomiya University. The graduate school was re-organized on April 2019 to better integrate the humanities, sciences, and engineering disciplines with a regional focus. Our aim is to promote research and foster innovative graduates who can contribute to the creation of a sustainable and prosperous regional society solving the problems of the 21st century.

For such regional development, we have established a curriculum to foster interdisciplinary thinking and practical skills as regional development literacy subjects, and students can approach these disciplines regardless of whether their major is in the humanities or the sciences.

It has been a long time since advanced professional education shifted from undergraduate to graduate schools. Society demands advanced specialists with deep and broad education. I hope that you will make the most of the Graduate School of Regional Development and Creativity as a place to pursue this goal.
